“Good ideas are meant to spread.” This is the sentiment of those who are against Apple’s lawsuit. But why create ideas if you can’t keep them to yourself? A lot of companies invest in R&D in order to make money off of what they invent. The counter to this is that Apple has stolen ideas from others – notably Xerox PARC. The difference in that situation is that Xerox wasn’t doing anything with their ideas—they were ideas for the sake of ideas. Apple took them and implemented them and made money. It would be similar if Apple came up with ideas relating to the iPhone/iPod touch/iPad but didn’t use them. That’s not the case. They are using them to make money and they should be allowed to use them to make money.
